This is, according to Kornblum "in fact only one in a series of visits for the purpose of which is the implementation of the Dayton agreements, setting up a dialogue process, the identification of problems and their joint resolution, prior to there becoming crises," said Kornblem. He repeated the United States' commitment to the implementation of the Dayton agreements. In particular he emphasised the importance that all sides fulfil their obligations so that "all sides can make use of the advantages that the Agreements bring".
According to the Croatian Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Mate Granic, who participated in the talks between President Tudman and Secretary Kornblum mentioned also the implementation of the agreement regarding the peaceful reintegration of eastern Slavonija and generally Croatian- American relations. "The joint conclusion was that the process of the peaceful reintegration of eastern Slavonija is progressing well and that it will be a success", said Dr Granic.
"Mr Kornblum informed us of all steps being taken by the US Administration to resolve the unclear situation with the "Republika Srpska" and Karadzic," added Dr Granic. He emphasised that the United States and Croatia are making joint efforts to strengthen the Federation and that the most recent step related to that was taken in Washington at the Federation Forum which had very concrete results.
Dr Granic announced that an American business delegation headed by Assistant Secretary Mr Kantor shall soon visit Croatia and added that another important delegation is already in Croatia. The conclusion was that relations between the two countries are "developing well and are on an ascending course" said Dr Granic.
