HDZ Leaders Donate Blood

ZAGREB - The leaders and members of the HDZ [Hrvatska Demokratska Zajednica, Croatian Democratic Union; Ruling party in Croatia] responded to the invitation by the Institute for Transfusionology by donating blood on the premises of the party's General Secretariat. The drive for voluntary blood donations started at 8:30 and finished at 12:00; during that time many parliamentarians as well as the members of the General Secretariat donated blood, also joined by the employees of the many companies whose offices are located nearby.
The Secretary-General of the HDZ, Zlatko Canjuga, said that the HDZ organizes such drives every 2-3 months and that the latest one was, as he emphasized, the least the leadership of the HDZ could do regarding the serious situation in Croatia and Zagreb.
He also expressed satisfaction with the response of the HDZ members to this humanitarian action, emphasizing that it was a small part of the HDZ's contribution to the general situation. "This way, we'll help the Croatian defenders, policemen and civilians who were hurt in these savage Serbian attacks," concluded Canjuga.
