Statement From the Meeting of the Publishing Board of Hrvatsko Slovo Held on September 23 1998
Hrvatsko Slovo, Zagreb, Croatia, September 25 1998
At its meeting held on September 23 1998 in Zagreb, the Publishing Board of Hrvatsko Slovo concluded that the objections and warnings it had directed previously to the editor-in-chief of Hrvatsko Slovo with purpose of the correction of observed errors in the editing of that papers were in vain. Furthermore, the publication of the editorial "Zionists" in the September 11 1998 issue of Hrvatsko Slovo was yet another serious editorial mistake because of which Mr. Dubravko Horvatic offered to tender his resignation. The Publishing Board accepted the resignation and dismissed Mr. Dubravko Horvatic from the position of editor-in-chief of Hrvatsko Slovo. The Publishing Board has modified the management of the company by appointing an Editorial Board led by a president and Editorial Office led by an editor-in-chief. The Publishing Board appointed academician Dubravko Jelcic for the president of the Editorial Board while Mr. Igor Mrdulja was appointed for the editor-in-chief of "Hrvatsko Slovo. Mr. Javor Novak was appointed for the deputy editor-in-chief. The remaining members of the Editorial Board and Editorial Office will be appointed later.(...)
