"Demaci made a baseless assertion that every single ethnic Albanian supports the independence of Kosovo. He 'forgot' that for decades more than a 100,000 ethnic Albanians have been living and working without any problems in Serbia proper, as well as another 30,000 ethnic Albanians expelled from Kosmet after the entry of the so-called peacekeeping forces, whose arrival was strongly advocated by Albanian 'democrats' including Demaci. His comments about the sad situation of Serbs trapped in enclaves are cynical. When he advocates the recognition of local elections conducted on the ethnic basis he does not mention undemocratic atmosphere in which those elections were conducted," says Jashari. He adds that Demaci came to Belgrade as a free citizen, an ethnic Albanian citizen of the country in which he lives and without fear used his right to the freedom of speech.
"When will a Serb be allowed to freely travel and express his opinion in Kosovo and Metohija?" asks Jashari.
