All For Spiric

Dani, Sarajevo, Federation Bosnia-Hercegovina, B-H, November 1, 2002

The absolute winner in the October 5 elections is none other than Nikola Spiric!? Namely out of candidates elected for any office, the controversial member of the Parliament and representative of the right wing of the SNSD received 29,938 votes. Behind Spiric, thanks to, naturally, votes of SDA supporters, is Sefik Dzaferovic with 27,643 votes, while the Croat representative with most supporters is Barisa Colak with 16,721 votes. On the other hand, the absolute winner, as far as the lowest number of votes is concerned, is the representative of the Party of Retired Persons in the Parliament of Bosnia-Hercegovina Muhamed Altic with 500 votes.

In the lower chamber of the Federation Parliament the "most popular" representative is, believe it or not, Semsudir Mehmedovic, the former Police chief in Zenica-Doboj canton, with 13,839 votes. However, in the Federation Parliament, the list of the representatives who managed to sneak in "through the back door" thanks to compensation mandates, is even more interesting for the public. Thus, as is already known, Nermin Vila from ProENS and the Party of BH Youth with as many as 58 votes is unassailable, while his main competitors are Slavica Gebert from NHI with 103 votes, Dusanka Pecanac from the Party of Retired Persons with 114 votes, Nusret Causevic from the GDS with 128 votes, Mirjana Djordjevic from the BOSS with 165 votes and Enes Kasumagic from the BPS with 169 votes.

In the Parliament of the Republic of Srpska the biggest winner by far is Milorad Dodik with 23,317, followed far behind by Dragan Kalinic, the head of the SDS with 10,167 votes. The parliament of the other entity will also include representatives with miniscule numbers of supporters. Record holdrs in the Parliament of Srpska are Radivoje Trbic, from Mirko Banjac's party, with only 122 votes, Radovan Bobic from the SNS with 155 votes, and Darko Jotanovic from the DPS-Predrag Radic with 209 votes.

In the cantonal parliaments the biggest winner is the leading candidate on the SDA list for the Sarajevo Canton Amor Masovic with as many as 21,386 votes, while the representatives who needed the least number of votes were Ferid Rahman from the Party for BH list in the Bosnia-Podrinje Canton and Anto Leovac from the HSP list for the Posavina Canton with 148 and 157 votes respectively.
